Virtual clothes and accessories for fan-favorite Cartoon Network series offered in Adventure Time Mystery Box on top online virtual world
NEW YORK, Jan. 3, 2012—ourWorld.com, an online virtual world designed for kids and teens that blends casual games, social networking and self expression, will give fans of Cartoon Network’s smash-hit comedy series, Adventure Time, the chance to trick out their avatars with virtual gear available now. Through a partnership with Cartoon Network Enterprises, meemo, a virtual goods licensing, marketing and distribution company, will be powering the virtual goods.
Adventure Time is the breakout animated comedy series that follows the adventures of a young boy named Finn and Jake, his dog with magical, shape-shifting powers. Virtual clothes and accessories based on the show will be available for avatars on ourWorld.com starting Dec. 28 through Feb. 3. The virtual goods will be offered through a special Adventure Time Mystery Box, a surprise-buy box that contains items ourWorld players’ avatars can wear or hold.
Players on ourWorld can kick off the fun of the holiday break by selecting a mystery box for their girl or boy avatar for 70 Gems, a value of approx. $1, to receive their surprise Adventure Time Avatar object. There is no limit on how many mystery boxes players can purchase with ourWorld Gems and players can trade or sell Adventure Time Avatar gear with fellow players in the ourWorld Marketplace for even more fun.
Some of the cool Adventure Time Avatar gear ourWorld players can expect to see in a mystery box:
· Wearable items: Finn’s hat, Princess Bubblegum’s hair, Ice King’s crown and beard and Fionna’s hat
· Items for Avatars to hold: Marceline’s Axe-Bass, Finn’s, Jake’s and Fionna’s swords, and the official Adventure Time sword
After discovering their virtual accessories in the mystery box, players will get a chance to participate in a virtual catwalk, where they can dress up their avatar and strut their stuff down the runway. The virtual ourWorld community will then vote for the best dressed avatar for the chance to win Gems, the ourWorld Virtual Currency.
